How is the exhaust volume calculated?
Cylinder bore - the diameter of the cylinder is referred to as the cylinder bore.
Stroke - The piston reciprocates in the cylinder. When the piston runs from the top dead center (TDC) to the bottom dead center (BDC), the distance traveled is called the piston stroke, referred to as stroke or stroke.
Now take the 2003 Honda CBR600RR as an example, the engine form: a water-cooled four-stroke parallel four-cylinder 16-valve DOHC engine as an example:
Bore (67.0mm) and Stroke (42.5mm)
Calculation method of exhaust volume:
Cylinder cross-sectional area X stroke X number of cylinders = total exhaust cc
Stroke - 42.5mm = 4.25cm
Bore Size - 67.0mm = 6.7cm
Cross-sectional area - 3.35 X 3.35 X 3.1416 = 35.25
Sectional Area 35.25 X Stroke 4.25 X Number of Cylinders 4 = Total Displacement 599cc
